A small history

The kingdom of Galarinde has had a traumatic and violent past with its history forged through numerous battles. The previous king kept power through fear, his opponents disappearing and his army a dark menace on its people overtaxing the common folk who could not afford even staples that it took to survive the winter and this corruption of course spread to its society making most residents as dark and greedy as its king.
Less than a year ago a Great Heathen army invaded the kingdom and after a bloody three month campaign a new king had taken the crown a Viking king from the west named Torbjorn Hellsberg who then instilled Danelaw upon the country and despite the brutality of the system it finally lead to a peace in the kingdom. Most accept their life in Galarinde and have goals of their own knowing full well their rights and privileges with the king placing Lords over the smaller territories to work with their people and in many ways make the place a far better one than it ever was.
Trade is good in Galarinde, due to resources raided from other countries far away and close, giving way to rare items that most would not have seen. Technology is also quite good, everything from a frankish crossbow to the chinese black powder or fine silks in very small quantities has at some point been possessed in these lands.
Danelaw is critical to the peace in Galarinde, a line is drawn over the kingdom down its centre through the towns of Fardon and Gildaheim important English settlements and law in that part of the Kingdom is English (Saxon) law while the other half is under Danelaw.

Due to the great heathen armies raiding consistently the kingdom has a wide verity of troops and weapons from all over the world such as Greek and Japanese.

Although the conquest of the Norman kings went well, the Raiders stalled and lost a great deal of people trying to conquer the woodland elves of Elderwood and the Orcs of Death Canyon, eventually finding peace in the losses and deciding a fair tribute bringing with it a defense pact that has held strong for years and brings both spoils in the victories.
